How to Create a Lovely Mother-Daughter Matching Style

Although there are many types of love, it’s hard to find a stronger and more devoted relationship than the one between a mother and her daughter. Regardless of the circumstances, this bond never ceases to exist and it constantly grows and develops.

Parents are always proud of their children and they want the whole world to know that. This is where fashion proves to be a useful tool.

What better way to show off with your toddler than to synchronise your styles and emphasise the unique bond the two of you share. Having matching outfits is also a great opportunity to teach your kid the tips and tricks of good style. Here are some ideas for mother-daughter matching styles that will melt every heart.

Pattern craze

The easiest way to coordinate your styles is to wear prints and patterns as they offer a variety of choices for creating an outfit. You don’t even have to wear the same combinations. For example, a mom can opt for a printed maxi dress, whereas her daughter can wear a cute printed skirt. A little girl dressed up in patterned clothing will look adorable anyway, but with her mommy at her side sporting the same looks – irresistible.

Go easy on matching

The principle “less is more” can also be applied here. Total matching can be too conspicuous and produce a different effect than the one intended. Try wearing different combinations, but with accessories in the same colour, like matching bracelets or purses. You can also wear pieces in the same colour but with different prints or finishes, or vice versa. Subtly matched outfits will be much more effective.

Colour-block

There’s hardly a more dominant and long-lasting trend in the fashion world than colour-blocking. Get inspired by this practical and innovative style and create some lovely trendy outfits for you and your toddler. A black-and-white combination is always a great option, but you can also experiment and match some vivid colours like red and green or orange and pink. The sky's the limit.

Casual beats fancy

Matching your styles doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions and celebrations only. You can bring some fresh air into your everyday activities by coordinating your styles when going for an ice-cream together or simply taking a stroll. A street-style combination can be easily coordinated, a simple pair of jeans and T-shirt will go a long way. Adorable matching style doesn’t require expensive pieces. You can find affordable clothing and turn you and your kids into trending fashion divas.

Boho for the youngest

Introduce your child into the laid-back, versatile world of boho design. A mother and daughter duo will look amazingly chic while sporting cute ankle boots and charming knee-length dresses. Be sure to complete the look with appropriate hairstyles, like braids or messy buns.

Disney magic

Disney World is an important part of everyone’s childhood, and you and your kids are certainly no exception. Timeless characters, like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto, are never-ending inspiration for the fashion industry as well, and dresses and shirts featuring them can be found anywhere. Jump into a piece with your favourite Disney character on it and go back into the happy and careless days of childhood. After all, the inner child in you has certainly grown tired of adult responsibilities and is looking for a chance to relax and have fun. Turning yourself into a mini-version of your daughter is a great way to do so.

A mother-daughter bond is created from the moment of birth and it lasts for a lifetime. This relationship is priceless and it needs to be cherished and nurtured. Every little moment spent with your child is precious, so make the most of it. Creating a matching style for you and your daughter is another experience you can share together and have so much fun while experimenting with clothes.

Have you ever tried any of these mother-daughter matching styles? Which one is your favourite or what's the one you would like to try soon?
